Here's one myth most people believe: they can do it all by themselves. Let's admit it. Almost every founder probably thinks that he/she is a jack-of-all-trades. But is that really true? Probably not.
When it comes to your business, it's OK to admit that you have some weaknesses. Don't let your business suffer because you're too proud to consult an expert. If your daily operations are preventing you from creating and implementing a growth strategy and learning a new skill set, it may not be the most efficient use of your time.
On the other hand, hiring help too early may be an issue. It could put your business at risk for potential cash flow problems. Desperate decisions are almost always not wise decisions. Make sure you think things through before making a hasty decision. Don't hire help if you don't know exactly what this new employee will be doing.
It's also important to understand where your gaps lie. Making the wrong hiring decisions could be very costly to a startup. This is why we recommend creating an employee hiring road map that'd help you pinpoint when and where additional expertise is needed.
So, we have some pretty exciting news. This week, our IderaOS family grew to 6. Yes, we did! This new hired staff's expertise will fill our most concerning gap.
